Reach to Recovery Conferences

Cancer survivors, volunteers and coordinators and their families and health-care professionals come together regularly in Reach to Recovery International conferences to pool their knowledge and experience and make the Reach to Recovery approach more effective.

Conferences are held both regionally and internationally and are hosted and organized locally by Reach to Recovery groups, often in partnership with cancer societies or UICC member organizations.

The main objectives are to:

  • share and exchange information
  • promote a better understanding of the problems of breast cancer patients
  • network
  • keep up with new developments and evolving patient needs
  • discuss new concepts of training

International conferences attracting from 300 to 650 participants are held every two years, in different world regions. All Reach to Recovery groups are welcome to bid to host the conference and to take part. The conference programme is planned by an international committee together with the hosts.

The 16th Reach to Recovery International Breast Cancer Support Conference will be held in Taiwan, November 10 – 12, 2011. Click here for more information and to register for this conference.

Since the cancer burden and the problems and experiences of breast cancer survivors vary from region to region, at the 11th Reach to Recovery International conference in Grado, Italy, in 2001, it was decided to hold regional conferences every two years.
